Villagra Building

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Conron & Woods was hired to create the interiors for the new State Attorney General's office building near to the Bataan Building in the main Capitol complex. The project grew to include a positive restoration to the adjacent Villagra Building, built in 1930 and out of use for some time.

The Villagra was slated for demolition. Working with the building's owner and with the State Historic Preservation Office, a restoration was designed to renew the building while respecting its historic nature, and return it to active use. In the process, the building achieved the first LEED Gold certification in New Mexico.
